BluRum13

Blu as in Primary, as a color a foundation, that can’t be created, Rum representing the fluidity… 13 the numbers 1 and 3 call and response. The sum of 6 and 7, the numbers representing man and heaven respectively, symbolizing physical and spiritual life.

Born in New York, raised in Maryland, World rapper BluRum 13 has a style that seems to be the perfect blend of all his influences. Poetic presence, distinct flow and insight are carried to your mind via a molasses voice, and articulate delivery.

The founder of his group WaterPower (feat Primo the Cenematic and, Mr KIK), solo emcee BluRum13 has lent his talents to such groups as Us3, One Self, Reverse Engineering, Bullfrog, the Russian Percussion, Resin Dogs, Ez3kiel, Groundworks, True Ingredients, Funginears among others. Passion seems to be in working with a range of sound, teaming up with such producers and Deejay’s as Dj Vadim, Luke Vibert, Grandtheft aka GT, Kid Koala, Ben Mono, Miss Ill and PM.

Through out his numerous live performances, and marathon touring schedules (doing as many as 28 shows in 30 days) BluRum 13 has shared the stage with a diverse range of artists such as Herbie Hancock, Maceo Parker, Dj Primere, Prince Paul, Digable Planets, KRS 1, Atmosphere, Slum Village, De La Soul, The Fugees, Mark Ronsen, Dj A-trak, Wu Tang Clan, Mike Ladd and Saul Williams to name a few.

BluRum13 is working on completion of his new album in titled Inverted Marsupials, due out 2012, and touring his live band the BluRum13 Trio. coming to a town near you.
